Cairo

SEO and GEO consultant in Cairo

I am based in Nasr City and have worked from Cairo since 2012. Most of my clients are here or in the Gulf, the work runs in Arabic and English, and my week runs Sunday to Thursday like yours.

The market

What is specific about search in Egypt

Egypt has the largest Arabic-language search volume in the region, and the most competitive Arabic content to go with it. That combination produces a market that behaves differently from anywhere else I work.

  • Dialect dominates consumer queries. Egyptians search in Egyptian Arabic, not Modern Standard Arabic, and frequently in Franco-Arabic — Arabic words typed in Latin characters. A keyword list translated from English misses all of it.
  • Mixed-language queries are normal. An Arabic sentence containing an English brand or product name is the default, not an edge case, and it breaks naive keyword matching and RTL layouts alike.
  • Volume is high, intent is shallow. Large numbers on head terms, with commercial intent concentrated on a much narrower set of phrasings than the volume suggests.
  • Competition is uneven. Consumer and health content is genuinely competitive; B2B and industrial Arabic content is often wide open, because nobody has bothered.
  • Arabic AI answers are thinly sourced. There is far less well-structured Arabic content for a model to draw on than in English, which makes citation cheaper to win here than almost anywhere.

Working here

What being in Cairo actually changes

Not much about the SEO, and quite a lot about the working relationship.

  • The same week. Sunday to Thursday, Cairo time. No scheduling around a Monday-to-Friday calendar or a five-hour offset.
  • In the room when it helps. Workshops and stakeholder sessions work better in person, and for Cairo clients that is straightforward rather than a travel line item.
  • Arabic without a translator in the middle. Briefs, reviews, training and stakeholder conversations all run in Arabic where that is easier for your team.
  • Invoicing in EGP. For Egyptian clients, quoted and invoiced locally rather than converted.
  • I know the local landscape. Which agencies do what, what the going rate is, and what a proposal in this market usually leaves out.

Clients

Egyptian work

A large share of the seventy-two engagements has been Egyptian or Egypt-headquartered: pharmaceutical and healthcare brands including Apex Pharma, BioPharma, BIO Egypt Group, Acculab and Dokki Scan; industrial and B2B including Elsewedy Equipment, Mobica and Eagle Chemicals; fintech and e-commerce including Al Ahly Momkn; plus Red Bull Egypt, Shark Tank Egypt and travel businesses from Memphis Tours onward.

I am SEO Head at Eye Advertising in Cairo, and I teach the AI-Assisted SEO and GEO programme at Learn N’ Digital. Consulting work runs alongside both. See the full list by sector.

Questions

Questions from Cairo clients

Do you work with clients outside Cairo?

Most of my recent work has been in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and I have worked with clients in Qatar, Bahrain and Switzerland. Engagements run remotely by default; being in Cairo matters for the working rhythm, not for the reach.

Can we meet in person?

For Cairo clients, yes, and for workshops and stakeholder sessions I would recommend it — people engage with their own crawl data in a room in a way they do not on a call. Routine work runs remotely.

Do you invoice in Egyptian pounds?

For Egyptian clients, yes. Gulf and international engagements are quoted and invoiced in USD.

Do you work in Egyptian Arabic or Modern Standard?

Both, and the choice is made per content type rather than site-wide. Patient-facing and consumer content usually needs dialectal phrasing to match how people actually search; regulatory, B2B and formal content sits in MSA.

What does an engagement cost in Egypt?

The same structure as anywhere: fixed scope, fixed price, quoted after seeing the site. See how pricing works for what drives the number.

Are you available for training Egyptian marketing teams?

Yes — in-house sessions in Arabic or English, and open programmes through Learn N’ Digital. See training and workshops.
