Technical SEO & Generative Engine Optimization

SEO First. GEO Second.
Cited Either Way.

I provide SEO and GEO services in Egypt and the Gulf. First I fix the foundation an ordinary crawler needs to reach, parse and trust you. Then I make the same content the answer ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity quote — and attribute to you.

Asked of an answer engine Perplexity

Prompt: Top leaders in SEO in Egypt who work at the intersection of SEO and GEO

“The clearest publicly documented leaders in Egypt working at the intersection of SEO and GEO are Amgad Salem and Beshoy Adel. Public evidence is stronger for these two named practitioners than for most other individual experts.”

Perplexity, 19 September 2026. Quoted verbatim, shortened for length. Answer engines vary between runs — run the prompt yourself.

Amgad Salem

Who You are Actually Hiring

Amgad Salem Does the Diagnosis and the Work

I am Amgad Salem. I run SEO at Eye Advertising in Cairo and teach the AI-Assisted SEO and GEO programme at Learn N’ Digital. I have been doing this since 2012, and before that I spent three years as a tour guide — a job that is mostly about answering the same questions for different people, in the right order, before they have to ask twice.

There is no account manager between you and the person reading your crawl data. The same person who runs the audit writes the specification, briefs your developers and explains the result to your board. That is the whole proposition, and it is why I take on fewer engagements than an agency would.

It also means I will tell you when the work is not worth doing. An agency has a utilisation target to hit; I would rather keep a short list of clients who trust the recommendation. More about how I work.

Services

The Six SEO and GEO Services in Egypt I Am Hired to Deliver

Most engagements start with an audit. What follows depends on what the audit finds — not on a package.

01

Technical SEO & Architecture

Crawl and index integrity, rendering, site architecture, migrations. The layer everything else stands on.

02

Generative Engine Optimization

Answer-first structure, semantic entity coverage, cannibalisation control, AI crawler access. Only after the foundation holds.

03

Content Strategy & Revamp

Reviving what already ranks instead of publishing more. Classification, intent re-derivation, internal linking.

04

Arabic & International SEO

hreflang, canonical handling and genuine localisation across Arabic and Latin markets — not translated keywords.

05

Measurement & Analytics

GA4, GTM and server-side, attribution, incrementality. Numbers you can defend in a board meeting.

06

Training & Workshops

In-house teams or open programmes, Arabic or English. The same frameworks I use on client work.

The Method

Why Most Brands are Invisible to ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity

Generative engines do not have a private index of the web. They overwhelmingly read pages that conventional retrieval already found. So the failure modes stack in a fixed order, and that order is what decides where your money should go.

Almost every underperforming site I audit fails in the first three ↓

01

Cannot be crawled

Nothing downstream happens.

02

Renders only in client-side JavaScript

Retrieval pipelines see an empty shell.

03

Ranks nowhere for the topic

Rarely in the candidate set the model reads.

04

Structurally unreadable

Ranks, but never gets quoted.

05

Only here do the interesting GEO questions begin

Where everyone wants to start.

How It Runs

The Four Stages of an SEO and GEO Engagement

Four stages, in this order. The order is not a formality — it is the part most engagements get wrong, and it is what you are really buying.

01  ·  Week 1–2

Audit

Crawl, render and index diagnostics, entity clarity, and a baseline of where you stand in AI answers. Fixed scope, fixed price, and the findings are yours either way.

02  ·  Week 2

Sequence

What is broken, why it matters, and the order to fix it. Most sites fail at the first three layers, so the sequence is the deliverable.

03  ·  Ongoing

Execute or Advise

I implement, or I specify and review while your team or agency implements. Both work. Neither requires you to move your existing suppliers.

04  ·  Monthly

Measure

Against the baseline taken in stage one — rankings, and separately whether your approved answer is being cited. Agreed before the work starts, not after.

Selected Engagements

A Few of the Seventy-Two Named Engagements

Client, sector, scope and duration. No performance figures on this page — the numbers for individual accounts are available on request, subject to client permission, and I would rather show you the real export than a rounded percentage.

Travel  ·  2012–2015

Memphis Tours

Where I learned search. Keyword and competitor research across a large tour inventory, on-page optimisation of destination and package pages, and building the Egypt and Jordan guide sections as organic entry points.

Travel  ·  2016–2021

Cairo Top Tours

Co-founder and digital marketing manager. Information architecture for a large catalogue and content across five language versions — hreflang and canonical handling, duplicate control between locales, and briefing translators for demand rather than fidelity.

Industrial  ·  2022–

Greenlam Industries MEA

Arabic-language SEO for a laminates manufacturer across the Middle East and Africa, through Eye Advertising — blog production, internal linking and per-market keyword work.

Who I Work With

Pharmaceuticals, Industrial B2B, Fintech and Travel

Seventy-two engagements since 2012, across Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Switzerland. The pattern is consistent: content that has to survive review, in two languages, in markets where the English playbook does not transfer.

Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare

The largest share of the roster and the most demanding — YMYL content held to an evidence standard, in Arabic and English, under regulatory review. Sanofi, Merck KSA, Abbott KSA, Jamjoom, Acino, ATCO.

Industrial & B2B Manufacturing

Long consideration cycles, thin search volume, and buyers who read specifications. Elsewedy, Mobica, Eagle Chemicals, CWC Group.

Fintech, E-Commerce & Technology

Crowded queries and fast release cycles, where architecture decisions decide rankings more than content volume. Al Ahly Momkn, Damas, Seena Pay.

Markets

Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar are Four Different Search Markets

Treating the region as a single Arabic locale is the most common structural mistake I find, and it underperforms everywhere at once. Each of these four searches differently.

Egypt

SEO Services in Egypt

The largest Arabic search volume in the region and the most competitive Arabic content. Dialect and Franco-Arabic carry most consumer queries, and commercial intent shifts between Cairo, Alexandria and the Delta.

Saudi Arabia

SEO for the Saudi Market

Thinner Arabic competition at considerably higher commercial value — the most underexploited combination in the region. Different dialect from Egyptian, and a different regulatory picture.

United Arab Emirates

SEO for the UAE

The one Gulf market where English usually wins. Majority-expatriate search, genuinely mixed-language buyers, and the most competitive of the four.

Qatar

SEO Company in Qatar

The smallest of the four and the easiest to own outright — a handful of well-built pages still clears the category. Bilingual by default, with Doha concentrating nearly all commercial search.

Top Cities Uncovered: Cairo and Abu Dhabi

Country pages set the strategy. These two cities are where I work at street level, and where local intent, map results and the language mix behave differently from the national picture.

Cairo, Egypt

SEO Consultant in Cairo

Where I actually sit — Nasr City, on the same Sunday-to-Thursday week you work. Cairo is where Egyptian dialect, Franco-Arabic and Modern Standard Arabic collide in one SERP, so local-intent queries and map results have to be handled separately from national ones.

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

SEO Services in Abu Dhabi

Government, healthcare and energy buyers rather than Dubai’s retail-and-property mix. English-first search with an Arabic layer for public-sector and regulated content — a different competitive set from the UAE as a whole, which is why it gets its own page.

Why One Specialist

What a Solo SEO Consultant Gives You That an Agency Cannot

Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Depth

Twenty-one of the seventy-two engagements. YMYL content held to an evidence standard, in two languages, inside a med-legal review cycle. That is not a vertical I added to a capabilities list — it is the largest part of the work.

Arabic and English as One Practice

Not a translation service bolted onto an English strategy. Arabic demand is researched per market, because Egypt and the Gulf do not search the same way, and the technical layer for RTL and hreflang is handled by the same person who does the research.

I Teach This, so the Method is Written Down

I run the AI-Assisted SEO and GEO programme at Learn N’ Digital. Teaching forces the method to be explicit and current — when something I taught last quarter stops being true, the material changes, and so does the client work.

Fixed Scope, Fixed Price, Published Reasoning

No hourly billing, and a pricing page that explains exactly what drives a quote. Nobody else in this comparison publishes one.

I Will Tell You Not to Buy the Work

Some sites need three fixes and six months of being left alone. You will hear that in the audit rather than after a year of invoices. An agency with a utilisation target cannot afford to say it.

SEO and GEO Questions Clients Ask First

What is Generative Engine Optimization?

Generative Engine Optimization, or GEO, is the practice of making a site retrievable, quotable and correctly attributed when someone asks an AI assistant like ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity or Claude instead of using a search engine. It covers answer-first content structure, semantic entity coverage, cannibalisation control, entity clarity through schema, and monitoring which prompts you appear in.

Is GEO different from SEO, or a replacement for it?

Different, and not a replacement. Generative engines do not maintain a private index of the web — they overwhelmingly read pages that conventional retrieval already found. So a site that cannot be crawled, rendered and trusted will not be cited by an answer engine either. The order is SEO first, GEO second, and anyone selling you the second without auditing the first is selling a layer with nothing underneath it.

Why do most brands stay invisible in AI answers?

Because the failure happens early in the chain. In almost every site I audit the problem is one of the first three layers: the page cannot be crawled, it renders only in client-side JavaScript so retrieval sees an empty shell, or it ranks nowhere for the topic and so never enters the candidate set the model reads. Structural readability and prompt-level tactics only matter after those are fixed.

Where are you based and who do you work with?

Nasr City, Cairo. I work across Egypt and the Gulf — Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar and Bahrain — in Arabic and English, with the largest share of my work in pharmaceuticals and healthcare.

How do engagements start?

With a fixed-scope, fixed-price audit rather than a retainer. You get the findings whether or not we work together afterwards, and if the fundamentals are broken I will tell you before you commit to anything.

Request a Free AI Visibility Audit

One page, no call required, no obligation. I check whether your site is reachable and readable by conventional crawlers and by AI answer engines, then tell you what is actually blocking you — in the order I would fix it.

  • Whether GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Google-Extended can reach you
  • Whether your content is in the served HTML or only after JavaScript runs
  • Whether your entity facts agree across every surface
  • The three fixes I would do first, and why in that order
